So I've been mulling it over for the last few weeks. Do I get a new camera so I can take up photography as a hobby or do I deal with the one I have. The other day I finally made up my mind and got a Cannon Digital Rebel XT ([link]). It arrived via UPS today!

I can't wait to take it for a spin around St. Louis and see what images I can capture. I learn better by doing than reading, but a friend of mine is going to send me her photography text book from college. And I have a friend that is a video and photography junkie, he's going to show me around the camera too.

I'll be posting things as I see fit, please be gentle as this is really a learning experience for me.

LOL! Well I've had this little Olympus for a while now and it's just not going to work for what I want to do. So I'm upgrading. I really shouldn't have, but I had the extra money and nothing else I needed it for so I figured what the heck. Plus it will give me an excuse to get out more often and get some desperately needed exercise.

You're very welcome. My apologies for not leaving a comment. It is a great photograph. I do think you captured the Noir look you were aiming for. Keep up the good work.

I'm getting a new Cannon Digital SLR camera tomorrow, so hopefully I'll have some good stuff to post soon. I'll be focusing more on Architecture and nature/wildlife to start with and moving to macro photography when I have the money to get a proper macro lens.
