the textures are prolific! the slats of wood with all their knots, the freshly tilled ground, the new leaves on the trees - its very tactile for the eyes.
i think it sits well in its square frame. its not an overly large barn so it doesnt necessitate a sprawling open field beside it, rather, its compactness is well accompanied by the bit of field nestled with it in the small border. makes me think of a small family farm where the kids have a tire swing in the front yard maple tree and everyone goes to visit grandma on sunday for dinner... nice quiet country life. kinda "norman rockwell-ish"
i rated it 3.5 on vision because i think it was well formatted (for the reasons above)
2.5 on originality... its a barn. i think we've all got a picture of a barn. maybe not as quaint as yours, but yeah...
technique got a 2. i think the focus could be a bit sharper and it seems a bit dark... have you tried it in BW? i think with all its textures it would super rock in BW where the contrasts would be more apparent.
3.5 on impact as it puts lots more images in my head that are portrayed here. it sparked my imagination and had me adding to its story
all in all i like it!! i think it was a well-managed image that can hold its own as is. still, i think you should at least TRY the BW thing just to see what you think. if it looks like it does in my head i think you'll be happy!
